João Paulo Monteiro Perspectivismo Mitigado
abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by
A coherent perspectivism should be moderate - or mitigated. It only becomes meaningful against a transperspective background, which is part of both Hume's and Nietzsche's legacies, a "minimalist" conception of causation. Metaphysical necessity must be excluded, but not a naturalistic, Humean harmony between causal thinking and the real world. One without which even Nietzsche's "mistakes with survival value" would hardly make any sense. It is thus that a plausible perspectivism may distinguish itself from mere rhetoric, scepticism, or relativism.

Maria Luísa Ribeiro Ferreira Filosofia e História da Filosofia
abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by

António Pedro Mesquita O Argumento Ontológico em Platão: (I) O Problema da Imortalidade
abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by
This article, The ontological argument in Plato: (I) the problem of immortality, discusses the interpretation of Socrates’ last demonstration of the immortality of the soul in the Phaedo as an ”ontological argument” and tries to refute this interpretation through an examination of the concept of immortality in Plato and its implications on the central relation soul/life. At the same time, it argues that the ontological argument should be seen as the very back-bone of Plato’s ontology, a point of view which will be developed in a forthcoming paper.

Maria José Figueiredo Aristóteles e a Teoria da Reminiscência
abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by
In the last chapter of the Posterior Analytics, Aristotle discusses the methodology of access to the indemonstrable first principles of science. Refusing any solution that seems to him to have anything whatsoever to do with the Platonic reminiscence, Aristotle proposes intuition as one of the methods to the knowledge of first principles, but without explaning what intuition is - and thus compromising his solution, and indeed the whole theory of science presented in the Posterior Analytics.

Pedro M. S. Alves Kant e Beck Face ao Problema da "Coisa-Em-Si"
abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by

João Paisana Sartre e o Pensamento de Marx
abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by
