Catholic Social Science Review

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The editors will consider articles or reviews in the social sciences or in the humanities that, at minimum, fulfill the following conditions: exhibition of high-quality scholarship; topical relevance to the Catholic Church’s social teaching; and compatibility with the teaching of the Church’s Magisterium. Submissions to the Articles section may not be submitted simultaneously to other publishers, and will be peer-reviewed by at least two referees.

Authors of a symposium, article, review, or documentation piece should submit an MS Word document via e-mail to the appropriate editor:

Contributors should observe the following word limits. Submissions outside of these guidelines will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Articles and symposium submissions, 5,000 words
• Book reviews, 1,000 words
• Public and Church Affairs articles, 2,000 words
• Documentation articles, 2,000 words

Articles should be submitted ready for blind review. The author’s name should appear nowhere in the manuscript and identifying references (such as, “As I have shown in my book…”) should be avoided.

Articles must begin with an abstract consisting of approximately 100 words.

Graphs and illustrations should be placed at the end of the manuscript, one to a page, with their locations and captions clearly indicated in the text of the manuscript. All such non-text items should be submitted as JPG files.
