The First Inter-American Congress of Philosophy was held in September 1944 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The French philosopher Jacques Maritain was the honoray president of the Congress, which was sponsored by Société Haïtienne d’Études Scientifiques. This volume, published by the Imprimerie de l'État in Port-au-Prince, contains papers from this event.
