Semiotics 2000 contains the proceedings of the 25th annnual meeting of the Semiotic Society of America, held in October 2000. The Semiotic Society of America is an interdisciplinary professional organization that supports innovative scholarship linking analytical and critical approaches to the postmodern world. Each year it sponsors a meeting organized around a particular theme, and each conference volume is based on the theme of the conference. The theme of this meeting was a review of the work of Thomas Sebeok and his contributions to semiotics. Contributors include Myrdene Anderson, Elliot Gaines, Ana Marostica, Frank Nuessel, Ralph Austin Powell, and many others.
