Semiotics 2012 contains the proceedings of the 37th annnual meeting of the Semiotic Society of America, held in November 2012. The Semiotic Society of America is an interdisciplinary professional organization that supports innovative scholarship linking analytical and critical approaches to the postmodern world. Each year it sponsors a meeting organized around a particular theme, and each conference volume is based on the theme of the conference. The theme of this meeting was "Semiotics and the New Media". It attracted a wide gamut of approaches from several disciplines, in both English and French. Contributors included Najat El guebli, Yukihide Endo, Elliot Gaines, Stephanie Walsh Matthews, Gila Safran Naveh, Charles Pearson, and Donna West.
