abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by
The aim of this paper is to show the philosophical relevance of Gorgias' critique of Parmenides on language and reality. He not only manages to argue for a complete separation of discourse from, being, but also proves that one cannot be thought without the other. His message on the Peri tou me ontos should be read on par with the Helen, thus advancing beyond a mere eristical display of virtuosity at the expense of Parmenides’ thesis. In the Sophist Plato showed how well he had understood the philosophical acumen of his reasoning despite the fact that his critique of Gorgias missed one or two of his most interesting points.

Paula Oliveira e Silva O Binómio Vontade-ser em de Libero Arbitrio de Santo Agostinho

Veritas in qua cernitur et tenetur summum bonum.

abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by
A transcendental comunicative structure of reason underlies J. G. Fichte's thought as exposed in his main works on history and law. On this basis, this paper tryes to show that rational intervention upon such human formation processes ("Bildung"), as learning, political action and history is only possible through bringing it's subjects to a dialogue reciprocity. Theory of "Bildung" consists, according to Fichte, not on prescriptions to action, but on a description of conditions to a comunicative integration.

Adriana Veríssimo Serrão Hermenêutica na Historiografia. Feuerbach e o Problema Da Interpretação
abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by

abstract | view |  rights & permissions | cited by
Henri Bergson and Maurice Blondel, contemporary philosophers who share a common influence of the "spiritualist positivism", show effective conditions for an eventual approximation. Nevertheless, the relative philosophic atitude of each of them is fundamentally marked by divergencies which come to light in the particular case of the concept of "intuition". With a common general definition, "intuition" gains precise specificities in each author due to its appearance in different phases of the course of both philosophies, aroused by different motivations and bearing distinct function and consequence.

Maria Leonor Xavier A Prova Anselmiana Segundo Karl Barth
