Open Access Archiving Policy

For the journal's current and three most recent complete volumes, authors may post a non-formatted version of their article as submitted to Techné to open access web sites. This means a version in a format that does not duplicate the look and feel of the journal (such as ASCII TXT, HTML, Word). We cannot grant permission for the use of any file format that reproduces page images from the journal (such as TIF, PDF, JPEG). Posting a non-formatted version of papers in current and recent issues allows authors to make their work more widely known without asking a non-profit journal to bear the cost and risk of free distribution.

All content in older issues of Techné, prior to the current and three most recent complete volumes, is now freely accessible. Full access to current and recent volumes is limited to subscribers and members to protect the Society's income and membership.

Open Access Publishing Option

An open access publishing option, with a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-NC 3.0) is available to authors who wish to have their articles published on an open access basis without this multi-year embargo period. See the Submission Guidelines for more information.

Electronic Preservation

Long-term preservation of Techné in electronic format has been assured through PORTICO and the CLOCKSS archive.
